The weekend got off to a flying start for Morant Bay Rum at the Weston Super food’s Festival at Marine Parade, Weston Super Mare, Somerset on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th of September 2016. We entered the motorway at 3.00 am and arrived at 7.00 am giving us plenty of time for setting up our stand before a full English breakfast and a gentle stroll along the beach.

Access to the event was also along the beach so we had to work between low and high tide.
The weather was a perfect balance for this two-day event. The official count for visitors who attended the festival was in excess of 30,000 people, all stocking up on some wonderful food and drinks!weston-tasting

This attendance of over 30,000 visitors certainly exceeded all expectations. It was nonstop for the Morant Bay team from 10am until 6pm.
We served thousands of samples of our Signature Red Rum and sold out on both days.
Lots of smiles positive comments from happy customers, who were intrigued by our product range.
People sampled our rum and called on other members of their families who were stuck in the crowds to come and purchase.

There was a Michelin Chef giving foody demonstrations, live bands playing all day and loads of activities for all the children, including donkey rides along the sandy beach.
There were so many amazing foods available and some incredible drink brands from the exhibitors making this event a true foody heaven for all who attended.

The main food hall where Morant Bay was exhibiting was adorned with paintings and murals by the world famous artist ”BANKSY”.
As the hours ticked by on the final day with an hour to go before finishing, there were still hundreds of people sampling and purchasing.
Overall, this was by far, one of the most populated shows Morant Bay Rum have exhibited at and we look forward to the next one.

Morant Bay would like to offer our sincere thanks to:
